First Solar has been an outlier amidst a struggling industry.
Shares of solar panel maker First Solar are up about 5% Wednesday after the company said manufacturing tax credits from the 2022 climate law will boost earnings this year. The tax credits prioritize domestic manufacturing, a win for First Solar because it's one of the only U.S. panel makers. Wednesday's gain bucks an otherwise gloomy stretch for solar companies, which have been hit hard by rising interest rates and high costs.
SolarEdge stock sank amid an abrupt slowdown in demand and weakness in the residential installation market.
